Hasan Zahangir was born in 1963, in a small village in the country of Bangladesh. In 1982, he decided to come to the U.S. for higher education and to pursue the American dream. Landing in Palm Beach County, he went on to study at Florida Atlantic University in the field of computer science and became a programmer. In the mid to late 1980s, he decided to switch careers to management and he has since used his individual skillset to venture into several companies.
His experiences and people skills prepared him for his entry into the Palm Beach County Democratic Party, and he was one of the founding members of the Bangladeshi-American Democratic Club in 2002. For the last 20 years, he has worked closely with the campaigns of many local and national political figures, in addition to strategizing with their teams in policymaking.
As a first-generation American citizen, he wants to take the opportunity to help improve the lives of all communities in his district by running for Florida House District 92. With his leadership and aim for a better future, he plans to continue working hard and advocating for the middle class, small businesses, educators and students, women’s health, first responders, unions, veterans, Florida’s senior citizens, and many more.
Hasan has lived in this district with his wife and two daughters since 1982.
